Didn't happen in Afganistan. Doesn't HAVE to happen in Iraq. But, as in Afganistan, Iraq will have to replace the government leadership.

Nice jab on the republican leadership statement, but I'll be happy to go on the quality of the democratic leadership if youre game....
Remember that iraq wouldnt be have the chem capabilties they have without the help of the Germans, British, Austrians, Italians, French, and Russians as well.

This is what I'm pretty much saying, if you attack, because of you want to avoid another 9-11, what are the limits, the boundaries? What can we do? Whatever we feel like as long as we are safe? This is a slippery slope argument, you mount it and it's just, like Dario said, a lose lose situation. You must fix US foreign policy, it's relationship with it's neighbors and trading partners. They hate us because we exploit the sh!t outta them.

Steve, death is death, no matter who it is or what nationality/race/sex the death is, it's all bad. What happened in Bali is bad, but we dont' know who did it do we? Things blow up all the time, everywhere, with lots of people dying, now we care because 2 Americans got killed? If people want to play the death is bad card, then just look around the world and see who's dying the most and where, and let your sympathy be there. I'm interested in seeing what facts you are looking at Steve, let me know because you probably know things I don't, so just holler back at me(btw what happened to you at the meet, you just disappeared).

Lig, most of my opinions come from my exposure to the international community and taking American history courses. Being in South America and South Korea and Japan for a while, I began to understand US's place in the world more, and even though we are on top, people don't hate us for that, they hate us because we like to point fingers and get all high minded about freedom and justice and about weapons and militaristic governments when we are far worse, hypocritical and two faced. I've seen many instances to how far our military has gone and money wasted for all weapons, biochem, nuc, even using animals like pigeons and dolphins as well as humans, mostly ethnic minorities. The old USSR war machine pales in comparison to our's.

If we get involved, which I am positive we will, there will just be more bloodshed, more enemies, and more fear on our part. The terrorists doesn't end, so don't expect them to.

Wrong, their own leaders exploit them and blame the great white satan. Then they preach jihad and revolution and how its great to give your life for your religion while they are spending the money the US gives them for humanitarian aid. We (you) give billions of dollars of aid to countries that are our mortal enemies, yet it never reaches the people. THe dictators and leaders have huge palaces, collections of sports cars, throngs of wives that sit home smoke crack and pop out some heirs to the throne.
All the while the leaders of these factions are running for thier lives and hiding, not willing to die for the same ideals they expect and demand (many times with muderous consequences) of thier peons and minions. They even enlist the mentally unstabe and insane to do their dirty work.

I recall video of crowds of many Arab countries cheering the 9-11 events. I also recall interviews of Arabs saying they were happy to see that act. Do we go after those as well. Where does it end? When will it end? I know we can't ignore this issue. However, it's like trying to put out a forest fire with a cup of water.
