Know anyone who lost big weight and kept it off?

I see these women walking my neighborhood (i know i posted something similar to this in the past), and they are a good bit overweight...like 40-50lbs each...easy....

Then I started wondering if anyone actually knows any hotties who were like 250lbs and turned themselves into a 120lb piece of ass??

I think most of the people we know (relatives of my wife's) go from 220lbs down to 150 (at which point they at least look ok), then right back to 230+, then back to 160, then 240+, etc.......

I stay 170lbs no matter what... i eat less if I have to, or go exersize if I have to...but 170lbs for 15+ years.

O ya... I am only 4' 7"

Alright, foremost, hopefully you're kidding about the 4'7" 170lbs reference.

I'm 5'6 and weigh 155lbs. Back in my early University days, I weighed in at 215lbs. I lost the weight over the course of a year or so, and have been able to keep it off for about 4 years now. My new career has helped me with my healthy lifestyle, and indicative of this is our annual physical tests that we are required to pass. My body fat composition in 2000 was 22%, and upon last exam (March '03), was down to 8.9% I run about 3-4 miles a day, 4 days a week coupled with some light weight excersises. While diet is important, it usually goes out the window given that I work shifts, and rarely eat at the right times, or get sufficient sleep.

I'm 5'8 150lbs with about 10%BF

I used to be 230 with 33% BF

But the thing is I'm not a weak little stick, like most people get when they lose weight nor am I a "skinnier fat person." I did it the right way and I love the fact that I have complete control over temptations unlike most people.

I had a female friend at my last job who lost 100 lbs. When I met her, she was quite attractive, not super-skinny but just about right. Then she showed me a "before" picture, I didn't even recognize that it was her, she was a blimp! She said one day she just got tired of being fat, and started a program of walking a few miles a day and eating right, much like what Jared (of Subway fame) did. She said when the weight started coming off she had some trouble getting it to stop, so she went a little under-weight, then came back to normal. So it is possible if you REALLY want to. Dr. Phil said people are fat because they want to be, plain and simple. FYI at my age (38) my metabolism slowed down a long time ago, I'm 6 feet tall and 180, about 16% body fat, and I have to be careful ALL THE TIME about how much/what I eat.

Stress effects your metabolism alot as well. I saw a study where they measured your metabolism under a few different situations. Just giving people simple math problems such as 3 x 4 = ? etc., their metabolism went down by as much 20%. Imagine what stress does day in and day out at work, I for one know that when I switched to a more 'stressfull' but better paying job, nothing in my lifestyle changes, I packed on about an extra 60 pounds over the last 2 years.
