You can never be too careful these days. You never know who the real psychos are. You did the right thing.

Seriously NEVER try to escalate situation like this. As much as you want to be a tough guy and show off whatever you got, one stab from some idiot can kill you. Calm is always the key.

yeah, when I come across problems like that I usually try not to resort to violence, I've known to be a master at comebacks, so I use verbal attack usually dealing with good morals and such to make them feel stupid and embarrass them. True nowadays people will do such crazy things over nothing even shoot someone over a wrong look or supposedly wrong look. Sad but thats the world we live in. In some occasions when adolescents cross the line, i don't forget them and ask around town on the inside scoop in them, i don't like to resort to violence but respect to my loved ones go a long way. Giving a good ass whooping and other stuff i rather not state, sorta put them into the position of being scared to even walk out their doors and makes them think over to clean up their act.

You did the right thing. To borrow a quote from "Harold & Kumar go to White Castle" ... "I learned a long time ago there's no sense getting all riled up every time a bunch of idiots give you a hard time. In the end, the universe tends to unfold as it should."

I headed out to the local bar tonight because 2 of my really great friends, both girls, are moving away for good. We had probably 20 people there for the occasion and the other 30 people in the bar were just random people (20-25 y.o. kids) from another town. Eventually towards the end of the evening I over here one of the kids making fun of two of the girl's we were with calling them fat and basically f**k them out of sympathy yada yada yada...runnning there mouths and saying all types of disrespect to them. I then walk of to the kids and say hey guys don't say that to them, you have no right to. The situation escalates to a screaming match back and forth, obviously with us in the girls' defense.

We then end up going outside(My friends and I), and the kid's eventually follow us out as well as the owner of the bar and everyone is screaming at us, with the typical "I'm a tough guy" phrases like "Yeah get out of here", "Just hit me then", etc...I'd have no problem laying these guys out...and that's the honest truth. To be the bigger man though, and out of respect for the bar owner I loaded up the friends who had driven with me and we started to head out. Then one of the kid's from outside runs up and punches the back window of the truck as hard as he can...no damage but WTF?!

My question to you is, how do you guys normally react in situations like this. When you're only trying to stand up for what's right and people need to throw on their beer muscles and step up to you. I'm not one to hold back my opinion when I feel like someone I care about is being directly disrespected for no reason and it seems to spawn situations like this. If nothing else thanks for letting me vent to you all because right about now I feel like this guy >
The best answer for a fool, is silence.
