The new Mitsubishi Lancer is coming to North America soon, What do you guys think of it? Would you trade up the S2k for it? I really want one, but dont want to give my stook away, Maybe i'll convince my brother to get it.

It should be a sweet car, but from what I hear it would make a great second car and that's about it. ( or should I say 1st car, daily driver) with the S2K for those days when your feeling blue

If it were to come to the states (highly unlikely per C&D and R&T due to not being designed to meet US EPA and DOT requirements) it will be a very cool car. Much like the WRX (by the way the hopped up STi version of the Sube is now rumored to be a year or so off given the overwhelming response of the US) it will be a monster bargain for the price of admission.
I still wouldn't trade it for my S2K. It may be faster, it may even get around a track faster. It isn't as easy on the eyes. It isn't a sports car (despite being a hell of a sports sedan). And I don't see how it can be as visceral and elemental as our little jewel.
Nothing short of a sport bike beats an elemental, high powered sports car with the top down on a sunny day driving down PCH.

I wouldn't go for it either...while it might be a great car, I think it's tough to beat the fun factor and convertible ability of the S2000...that is, unless you go for a 360 Spider!

I have been thinking about this.
If it comes to the US(which it probably won't) I will trade the Honda for it.
I am more about performance and speed than having people check out what I am driving.
I like that it looks like an economy car but rips.
First thing I would do is pull that rear wing off though.
The reason I bought the Honda was because of it's performance and price.
AWD and a very tunable turbo
Although I like having a convertable but this isn't the first or the last.

An official model release schedule for the New York Auto Show lists BOTH the Mitsubishi Lancer AND the Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VII as North American debuts. We will find out soon enough.
The creator of the Grand Turismo racing simulator owns both an S2000 and an EVO VI. Nice choices.
