Years ago, when various well-meaning people were trying to pursuade me to accept Christianity, one of them gave me a copy of Mere Christianity to read. After reading it I was rather uneasy about the argument that C. S. Lewis constructed; that's it: just a bit uneasy. It was clear to me that his argument included some logical fallacies, but that they were subtle enough that most people would read the book and believe that Lewis had unerringly constructed his case. I did not reread it to pinpoint the fallacies.

Mere Christianity is a very good book to read - don't get me wrong - but it is far from perfect.

I'm a man of science. Simple, really.

Sorry, I wasn't intending my post as a response to any other in particular. If anything, I'm taking your side.

Okay, a few questions I'd just like to throw out...

Let's say God is the creator of all things.. who created God? Is He just an all knowing all being entity, how was he manifested? I think if we have a better understanding of God, maybe we can have a better understanding of life after death.

Another off-topic question relating to life on other planets, when does the universe stop, is it infinite?? If so, how is that possible, so many questions

Yes! There are ENDLESS questions... we could all be wasting our time.

But look at ourselves and how complex our world is and WE are. How could we just be made up out of the blue? How are we possibly evolved from Dinosaurs? And why the hell did God create dinosaurs? Did he just decide to have fun and play around? Did he want us humans (the creation in his image) to have something to add to this huge mystery by finding out what lived on the planet prior to our existence?

Soooo many questions, yet no hardcore proof. I think the only way the Lord can convince EVERYONE is that he needs to come down to earth in a visible form where everyone can see him and make his point clear. Being the Christian I am, I still have my doubts.. which SiDriver is definitely trying to help me find my way on. I just find it hard to believe in everything by just some feelings that other people feel good when they feel they've been enlightened by Christ. It may just be an illusion you are creating for yourself by thinking you are doing what's right. I don't know if that made sense... oh well.

Can you imagine what chaos the world would be put through if ONE day we discovered some form of complex life form on a distant planet? It's already hard imagining we are alone in this vast universe... Millions of light years of distant universe, yet we are the only planet that has formed living species. Amazing....
