(likely) my funny encounter with Larry Ellison (head of Oracle Corp.)
so I'm out on a date in Palo Alto and we decide to stop by a Hobbee's restaurant close to the Stanford campus at around 2pm. The restaurant is mostly empty but I look over two tables and I see a guy who really has a striking resemblance to Larry Ellison, the head of Oracle Corp. and one of the top 5 richest men in the world. he's sitting alone at a corner table, reading the newspaper.
So I lean over and say, "Excuse me sir. I hope you don't mind my saying, but you have striking resemblance to Larry Ellison."
He looks over, pauses for just a moment and says, "Yeah. I get that sometimes. Uh, don't know what to think of that."
So I say, "Yeah, I'm sure you get that all the time. Well, I'm sure you're a lot nicer than Mr. Ellison anyway."
Then turn away and get back to my date.
My date is like, "Who is Larry Ellison?"
And I say, "Well, he's the head of Oracle Corp. Worth a few billion dollars. Has a rep for being kind of a jerk tho."
So we go back to minding our own business, and the more I glance over, the more convinced I am that this guy is really IS Larry Ellison. I mean, he's got a very unique look, and this guy has the exact same look.
I wanted to approach him again later, and more quietly ask him if in fact he really was Mr. Ellison, but he left before we did. I didn't see what car he drove either. Didn't leave that big a tip from what I saw.
I'm about 70% sure it was him. Kinda funny tho that I that I tried to reassure him that I meant no offense at saying he looked like Larry.

Well, he is the one with the Mclaren F1 in the bay area so if you ever see that with a "oracle8" plate, then you know it's him.. I nearly crapped myself when I saw that car in Sunnyvale..

Oracle8? What is he, from Hong Kong?
I thought only the Chinese (and mostly those who are Cantonese speaking) would use things like 168, 98, 89, or stuff that has to do with 8 and 9.
