There is no "cure for cancer," as such. It isn't like polio, where you can get a vaccine to prevent all of it, or like a common infection, which can be prevented or treated with no threat to your life. Many people are "cured" of their cancers every year. There are still some cancers that have no effective treatment, and some people die from cancer because their case is too far advanced. At no point in time will there be a treatment that renders cancer obselete, because that kind of treatment is science fiction - nothing works that way, why would cancer be different?
