Lord of the Rings - Fellowship of the Ring
It would not hurt for you to read the book. It will be more descriptive. Peter Jackson had to take some shortcuts due to I am sure budget and time constrains. A 3 hour flick can not been viewed enough times in a day to make up the production cost. Gallum was a hobit until the ring changed him to his deformed metamorphosis state of evil and treachery. It was not suppose to be Liv Tyler who had raised the water to wash away the Ring Wraiths; in the book it was Gandolf who rescued Frodo.

I don't know if it's just me but I found this movie rather lackluster.
I never read the books (although I'm sure they'd probably be more entertaining) and only saw the animated movie when I was a kid.
I just wasn't pulled into it... there were some good shots but most of it was bad bluescreen (love the part where they run twice as fast and float in the air coming out of the dwarf cave). I know some people who worked on it and I know that time was a killer on it, but sheesh... some of that stuff shouldn't of been finaled.
Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until the next installment to see how it goes.

Dumb movie, I would have enjoyed it if it came out when I was 12 or so. I did find it very funny for a solid 45 minutes, then 45 minutes later we walked out. Had high hopes, definitely let down. Can anyone say way too f@cking long?
Some would not agree with the movie. Too much fantasy and not enough fact maybe. Names of characters and plot might be too involved to keep track for some as well. True to the book is the reason for the 3 hours. You definitely get your admission price worth in seeing it though. Not an hour and a 1/2 film like some other movies where you get jibbed $8.75.
