Maybe because they were trying to beat sony to the market, build strong partnerships with other companies? God they saw the bigger picture. Which gives them an advantage, if sony had two brain cells they would've made sure PS3 was out BEFORE christmas. Morons, but then again this is now there standard operating procedure, to be idiots.

With the FF franchise becoming available on the Xbox, there aren't many reasons left to get a Playstation. MS has done a great job of buying up game houses to get must have titles and creating a programmer-friendly environment for game developers. MS still looses money on each Xbox, but as a long term gamble, its finally paying off. Maybe somday MS will actually make money at something other than its Office suite and OS.
