Before I left MOT in January, I was testing both those phones. The 710 was really still in it's infancy. And if the 710 does get out in July, MOT REALLY has turned it around when it comes to getting their phones out to market in a reasonable time frame. And I have to congratulate all of the developers and system testers for really uping the ante at MOT.

The 810 is a small phone. The camera is just ok. The version I have cannot take pictures in anything other than great lighting. I like the phone a lot, even with one that didn't have all kinks taken out of it. The 810 is a phone from Korea ODM that was bought by MOT. The 710 is a MOT design.

The 710 is MUCH bigger than the 810 and is really a pretty big phone for today's day and age. I guarantee some people will not like the size of the 710.

Good luck with your purchase, and I'm really happy to see MOT getting a phone out on time with the 710. The 810 is VERY late.

ERIK

ok, here is my 2 cents on the 710

It is pretty big, but not that big compared to say, the motorola T720.

The phone is alright, has pretty cool features. The screen is big, but all honesty, it is not that clear. My friend just got the v600 from Suncom, and the screen on that phone is really clear.

The picture quality on the phone is decent, but because it shares a video viewer, it sometimes has resolution problems. I can't seem to take really clear pictures. I hope it is the unit, and i was just given a defective unit for testing.

The speakerphone on it is great, the voice commands awesome. The battery life..... SUCKS...

I can't go one day without recharging, sometimes i have to charge midday. The reason can be that i am on the phone constantly for work, so it does drain it really quick. One thing i did notice was that the screen, since it is so big, does tend to heat up when i am on the phone.

Since i received the phone last tuesday, i been getting a ringing in my left ear. I am not sure if it is caused by the phone or not, but since i don't get the ringing in both ears, and only in the one that i usually place the phone, i am going to say it was caused by the phone.

I have to return the phone today, since the testing period is over. Usually if a phone is going to be released, it would be a week or so after the testing period is over. Stay tuned.

Thanks for the review dkhl I saw your writeup over on howardforums.

I guess I'll have to wait till people start getting this phone before I decide on a new phone.

How do you all think the MOT 710 will compare to the VX6000 (LG) that VRZN already carries?

Hey dkhl,

Is the A840 model from Motorola coming out soon for the US? And will it be available for Verizon? If so, how does the size compare with the T720 series models? I have the T720 and the size is perfect, not so big as to be cumbersome and not too small to hold comfortably. I usually keep things until they stop working but the reception/performance and battery life on this thing isn't so great. I'm looking at the A840 because of its CDMA/GSM feature. I just wish they sanitized the stupid camera feature out of it.

Also, will the T725e be available for Verizon? And if so, when will this come out? I hope this one will be an improvement over the original virgin T720 reception and performance wise.

Thanks.
