Ok it's an interstate at night, cars doing at least 70-80mph, he flew by those the cars like they was standing still, so it's safe to say his speedo was indeed in mph.

Absolutely. I have done that with most of the cars I have owned. It just takes the right stretch of road, the right time of day, and not a camera in sight. My favorite part of the story is where he tells the cop he was filming his speedo.
