[QUOTE=meth,Jul 26 2006, 03:53 PM] Look man, calm down i don't want to fight with you.
i am merely saying you get what you pay for. yes, that machine is nearly $1000 cheaper. but why didn't you select this option:
Intel

Sure then i could go AMD and take $400 more off the price and get your bus speed and still have a faster processor.
PC's give you the option of CHOICE where you can choose a slightly lower spec computer for much less money and on mac's you can't. win for the PC i guess. PC's are also lower priced pound for pound as they should be, but not as much as i would think, that's all i'm tryin to say.
you can buy a junker 80's mustang, spend a few thousand, and make it faster than a 911 turbo. true, you can have a fast car for a decent price, but I'd still take the more expensive porsche. understandably, some people would rather just save some money and have the bitchin' fast mustang. too each his own, but in the end, you get what you pay for.
Lets try a comparison we can all understand. This is like buying a car.
Let's compare the S2000 to a Solstice GXP.
- both have the same weight
- both have just about the same dimensions
- both get about the same mileage
- both have the same number of cylinders
- both have the same displacement
- both have about the same passenger capacity
The Solstice has more HP (260) compared to the S2000 (237)
The Solstice has more Torque (260) compared to the S2000 (166)
The Solstice is $10,000 cheaper than the S2000
Based on price/performance, the Solstice GXP is a better car than the S2000.
But just about everyone here will say "Hell No!"
why?
Because it's a Pontiac, and the other is a Honda.
Now apply this to the computer argument above...

Good analogy though...makes sense to me!

Yeah, but I had to type A LOT, and look up numbers on the net, so I started my post before you

So if the Solstice had the Honda badge on it, you would pay the extra 10,000 is what you are saying, just because it's a Honda. That isn't a good analogy at all.
