You could check out a book called "Getting Things Done" by David Allen. It suggests a thorough method of organizatizing tasks and information. It's got a bit of a cult following, and the method takes a little effort, but it works for a lot of people. I don't use his method exactly, but did adopt some of his ideas.
Got it already. Wasn't too fond of it. I thought it would be the holy grail to organization, just turned out to be a book in my bookshelf.

How are you NOT organized?
I can remember things pretty well. When it comes to big picture stuff, I'm A-OK. It's the secretarial/administrative BS that gets me. Unfortunately we had cut backs and our administrative staff was first to go, hence, I'm doing my own admin type crap.

I just can't be bothered with all the little things, i.e., POs, minutes, email cc's. I need to get some way to figure out how to organize the little crap that bogs me down and prevents me from getting the big stuff done. I'm in a company that for some reason harps on the small stuff.

I basically need an electronic nanny/admin.

best thing:

big dry eraser board. write down thing immediately.

1. writing it down helps you remember

2. it's always there for you to look and remind you.

3. it shows other people what's going on. you're sharing information and communicating that way.

use different colors to divide what's urgent and what's not.

like green for not as important things, red for very urgent things.

etc.
