Default overuse of carbon fiber

anybody else see too much carbon fiber?
it's like sponsor stickers back in the day.
they had their purposes but now everybody wants it. and everybody is putting it on anything they can.
i'm starting to see carbon fiber as a sign of rice.

I am too a little bit, especially since you can get cheaper replicas. Luckily I haven't seen any jalopies running around locally with CF.

I think the worse was this

wt reduction with carbon fiber/kevlar not ever going to stop. What I think you will find is more and more people will paint over the CF/K so it matches the rest of there car.
The only rice thing about it will be if it sticks out like GTR badge on a mazda.

weight reduction is the excuse.
go to the racing and competition forum and see how many of those cars are clad with carbon fiber.
then go to the gallery and see how many of those carbon fiber cars ever set foot on a track.

just like buying running shoes so you can run faster yet you weigh 250 lbs. and can't run 1/2 mile without gasping for air.

Adding lightweight parts IN ADDITION to the existing parts just makes things heavier....

You own't see grassroot race cars with CF parts.

The hobby is a greenback furnace as it is; nevermind spending 1500 on a frigging panel that's just gotta get dinged up anyway.

I don't get it - you're buying running shoes and running, so thats good, even if you're out of shape. Maybe you mean buying $500 running shoes when you can't run well?
