V1 is the best investment I have made in my portfolio.
As it is 400 and each ticket around DFW is 200, I have returned at least 100% a year on the investment based on the local and DPS hits I have gotten that I was able to slow or avoid.

+1!

V1 is wonderful. it has literally saved me over 10-15 times in the course of 3 years. It is also great since i am warned before i can see a cop so i know to be under the limit for the next mile.

In Oklahoma I had a cop following me, wasnt radaring, and I turned into the outside lane on a green light right hand turn. Cop pulled me over and handed me a careless driving ticket. Biggest horse shit Ive ever seen in my life, couldnt get out of it.. tickets are cheap in OK ($84) but I could do NOTHING to keep it off my record so now there it sits I cant help to think if he didnt see the radar detector if he would have let me off or even would have ever pulled me over in the first place

9500Ci FTW, its very stealty and has amazing range! It has saved my ass countless times and it even jams lazer, the trick to it is when you get a signal, dont slam on brakes but promptly slow down then turn it off.

With budgets being as upside down for most states and counties, warnings are a thing of the past as cops are constantly under pressure to meet quotas and any raise or promotion is very strongly tied to their performance evaluations and citations do weigh heavily.

I should repost my essay I did "The Art of Speeding" It dispells the false pretense of safety and then addresses responsible speeding and awareness.

NHTSA Statistics sjhow that more people are killed under 50mph than over 60mph and in areas with no statutory speed limit, fatal crashes were the lowest of all statistics.

http://www-fars.nhts...AllVictims.aspx

I can post page after page that research and evidence showing that the leading factor in crash fatalities is not speed, awareness and speed variation are the leading cause of accidents. Example, drivers going 10mph or more under the posted limit posed a greater threat than those driving 10mph or greater over the posted limit. Analyst conclusions say that drivers exceeding the posted limits were more aware of their surroundings and paying closer attention to their driving. The overwhelming response of those involved in accidents where they were driving 10mph or less under the posed limit claimed that they were not moving as fast so assumed they did not have to worry as much.

I am for safety for the purpose of safety, its no myth that revenue is a key incentive to any cop or agency... so why not enforce a larger market that WILL infact, improve safety.

1. Mandate a more uniform speed enforcement method, as in, ticket more for impeeding the flow of traffic, set more reasonable minimum highway speed limits.

2. Ticket more for truly dangerous violations: tailgating, rolling walls, right of way violations, clogging the left lane.

3. Put down the cell phone and latte and drive! I would support a cop any day to ticket someone for texting while driving or talking on the phone and other things that distract from the driving task.

Even though I love speed, its evident that it really doesnt get you anywhere any faster. The traffic system is specifically designed to make it so it takes you 35 minutes to go XX miles no matter how fast you drive. Factors that prove this are the lack of use of synchronized lights, lack of uniform speed codes, intentional restricted accessibility to roads and commercial zones, bottle necks etc...

Its an intentional design of inefficiency, and this design is in mind for citation revenue. Safety is merely a false presense to sell the bills to bleeding hearts and crooked politicians.

find out what your local departments are using. around here everyone is using LIDAR so any detector is pretty much just a "get ready to pull over" warning. if they are still using ka then it works really well.

My approach to avoiding speeding tickets is known as "wait till you see the cop, then hammer the brakes." So far it has served me well.

I'm one who believes good awareness of your surroundings is enough to keep you from the side of the road (with a cruiser on your a$$). If you drive the same road often, you should be able to recognize the traffic patterns/flow well enough to know when there's something up ahead worth slowing down for.

We all like to drive fast, and I understand that excessive speed is not for public roads, however, I constantly do 10-20mph over the speed limit, traffic pending, of course. I've found that if you have cars in front of you, they are the best warning system. The cars in the right lanes act as a heard of sheep, and you can read them accordingly. It may be dumb luck, but being ultra-aware of my surroundings, I feel, has proven to be just as successful as any fuzz buster. Watch, now that I say this I'll get nabbed on my way to my meeting later this morning!

My V1 has saved my ass many times over, but I have been popped by lazer when I was the only person in line with the cop, theres no getting out of that, but it picks up the radar that is always one while they are sitting or moving, everytime.

i have the 8500x50 and its very helpfull for ka but once that laser hits you your done. if you slam HARD on the breaks you might reduce your speed a bit but nothing more than 5-8mph IMO

Escort 8500
yea this is 100% true. i just got a speeding ticket last month and got court tomorrow, my license might be suspended and it did save me from going 20+ mph over to 16mph over. but still got the ticket

you cant beat laser unless you have a laser jammer which is illegal in my state (colorado) all the cops use laser and not radar ):
