Hi Tanq

I think the handwriting scrawled on the wall for Soviet leadership (Gorbachov and the KGB techno-kleptocrat cohort) when South Korea's economy was poised to pass that of the Soviet Union. Their system wasn't working. Couldn't even organize a single long line for bread and butter, instead separate long lines. We broke their economy with the arms race.

JRM don't forget the Soviet B-58, the Backfire. As long as we're noting beautiful birds of mass destruction, the turbo counterprop Bear was always one of my favorites for brutal good looks.

Article regarding the anthrax cases in Florida:
http://www.msnbc.com/news/639937.asp

A Middle Eastern intern is believed to have mailed an envelope to the offices, containing a powdery substance and a Star of David medallion. The second man infected worked in the mailroom.

Hi JRM

I agree with your taste in aircraft. As to the rest, we don't really have to pluck out our eyeballs and become stupid do we? The thing about the dusty letter is it was sent before September 11! Thanks for the url, Tanq.

Got a place in my heart for Vulcans. They weren't Mach capable and were the first bombers designed for long range loiter and short range stand off nuclear capability (our missiles didn't go far). In "Flash White" they were awesome. In DP they looked just huge....

As I once mentioned I saw a squadron of these guys taking off in formation.... Should have had a sizeometer as I could hardly stand up

Oh and I think they had a radar cross section of a London Bus
