S4 or 330Ci
I guess it depends on what you're looking for:
330ci: look, luxury, roomy, class(to some ppl)
S4: performance, practical(4 door & awd), sleeper look,
6 speed.
Another downside of the S4 is the Audi 1.8, 2.8 and soon will be S4, will have the whole new look next year..so you might also want to consider buying a older look car or not.

Between the two i would go for the s4 unless you have the money for an m3...otherwise i wouldn't take the 330 over the s4...
also...if you love your s2k i agree with jschmidt....get yourself a nice beater for cheap and keep the s2k.

Thanks for your opinions, fellas. I decided to go for the Bimmer. I can't get over the style and snob appeal.
I absolutely love the M sport rims on the sport package.
Here's what I ordered:
Sports Package
Premium Package
Xenons
HK (standard now)
heated seats
in dash CD
OEM spoiler (oh, yes)
Clear corners (oh, yes)
35% tint all around
jet black
total price: $40,150
It's ridiculous that a car of this level does not include alarm. i also hope the steering boost goes away by april production. no big deal if it doesn't, but good if it does. anyone else own a 3-series coupe in here?
will take delivery in early june. long ass wait.

Pretty low-profile, but it adds to the sportiness of a coupe.

Well... from what I've observed, a lot of S2000 owners don't know how to drive... and being from Seattle, many of them will be of the weekend cruiser type... but don't worry, I know how to pick my races.
I'll still take one on, though.

you will want to wonder over to these two forums:
http://www.e46fanatics.com/forums/3-series/
http://www.bimmer.org/3series/messages/
check out the FAQ on e46fanatics if you want to check on the status of your car and find out useful things like how to install clears, alarms and CD changers for a fraction of what the dealer charges.
good luck... I sure don't even keeping the black clean, I plan to have my M3 in one of the more easily maintainable metallics.
