Strippers
I have a couple of friends who had roommates that dated strippers and in both cases the strippers ended up cleaning out their homes when they weren't home. They came home from work tvs, vcrs, computers, cash etc. were all gone. I won't say don't date them since they are people just like anyone else and there are good people and bad people.
s2ko,
I won't give a girl a key to my place unless she's paying half the rent and her name is on the lease, or she's married to me..... but the point hits home that strippers are -usually- girls who can't get real jobs, and are therefore sorta lower-class people. Many of them seem to long for the days when they'll actually mean something to the world. There isn't any other group of occupations (by group I mean prostitute, stripper, pr0n star, etc.) in which nearly every worker wishes they could do something else. I'd say only a few of those workers really enjoy their profession and would continue to do it even it if only made minimum wage. I used to validate stripping because I believed the girls were simply in transition, enjoying their work, making some money to go to school and become someone important. I guess the sad reality is that they (or most of them) don't like their jobs, and have nothing else to do.
I suppose that argument, if valid, indicates they're all kinda sad and pathetic. Hmmmm...
Ok, how about a girl who has a degree and a good job, but strips on the weekends because she enjoys the rush? I'd be all about that!
Integrate, friends with benefits is fine with me! After all, if you meet a girl at a local astronomy club, you expect her to be intelligent and inquisitive. If you meet a girl at the local strip club, you expect her to be naked all the time for you. It's like imprinting. I have the feeling lots of strippers have lots of very casual relationships -- I don't think anyone here has mentioned a friend who is happily married to one.
So if she calls (now I'm dreading it!) I'll take her out, but I'll probably be tiptoeing around her.

Sorry I disagree with some of you here... I'm currently dating an ex-stripper. She danced for about 6 months when she was younger. Not only is she beautiful, she's extremely intelligent, well educated and very kind.
I think people in certain circumstances do what they must.

mav,
Is she taken?!?
Oh, wait, sorry.
This girl I'm talking about doesn't strike me as very intelligent, though... she failed statistics twice at a community college... I had to reassure her that she was smart enough to do it the third time. I offered to help her, though, and her eyes lit up. Maybe I can be her tutor for a while or something. I don't mind being just friends with the girl, too, by the way... I'm not really plotting anything.
But, since she's not intelligent, and honestly probably not very interesting with her clothes on, I've come to realize the only reason I want her is because I've seen her butt naked -- a lot. That isn't really a well-formed reason to want someone...
*Sigh* Sometimes reality touches us all....

It also depends; my experiences were almost exclusively in well-run clubs in decent areas. To generalize, the lower the class of the area/joint, the lower the class of the people, employees included.
Psicho54,
Cool man. Yeah, I guess there's as wide a variation of personalities in strippers as there is any other profession.
So, I'm new to the bay area.... do you need another bud to hang out with? And you have all these hot stripper friends who don't have boyfriends...
We can wax our S's together -- I'll bring the Zaino.
