Swimming pool design
Idk about y'all but our pool isn't that hard to keep up at all, and i live right on the water so i get crawfish and fiddler crabs that crawl up into it. Just get a polaris and you're pretty set straight lol.. also, do you guys still use chlorine?

We use those chlorine tablets. The biggest pain is keeping your pool clean after it rains. A little bit of precipitation and your pool turns green

To the person I quoted your chemicals must be way off if turns green every time it rains. The tablets you are using may have your stabilizer (conditioner) to high or your chlorine left may be to low you should take a water sample to a pool store you trust and have them run a few set of test on it.
I have had a pool for many years. It is a large kidney shaped one that I rebuilt a couple of years ago. The salt chlorination system is tops. The pebble tech finish with abalone shell mixed in is gorgeous. The rock features placed in the pool at the outside position of the baja step along with the boulders placed along the bigger edges of the pool are terrific accents and allow additional privacy. My climate is probably similar to yours - swim months may - oct. The goldens jump in it 365.
Pool heaters - solar don't work that well and are very expensive to install. Electric heaters cost a small fortune to heat and maintain the pool temp. Gas heaters would be the most efficient.
Recommend a stand alone above ground jacuzzi. Less expensive to maintain and movable upon sale.
hope some of this helps. good luck
