If you have to ask an opinion on what other people think, then maybe you shouldn't be getting it done. Do what YOU want to do regardless of what other people think. I had mine done when I was 18 and it got WAY too played out, so I took it out. I hate having things that everyone else has because then there is no sense of individualism. Some people like to conform, others don't. Some people like to stand out, some people don't. It all depends on what you feel is right for you. Plus, if you don't like it or get sick of it, it's something you can take out, but depending on how long you have it, it may leave a small scar on your tongue. Also, do you like your teeth? Lots of times when people aren't used to them, they click it against their teeth and chip them.

 

Personally, I dont know of any girls with tongue rings, at least none of my friends, and I know about three or four guys with them. I dont really see them as played out because I dont see them that often, but after research, I did learn about the damages to your teeth and some other things that I wont get into. As far as any facial piercings go, I dont think I could ever get something like that done. That's just me. Everything I do, I do for a reason, and I understand the image. I got my tattoo because I liked the artwork on my lower back which I designed, and because I'm not a little goody two shoes...None of my friends are...no one that I hang out with is either...so I guess there is an "image" that goes along with it. But it is an image that I am comfortable with and that doesnt incite on the "level" of my "tube steak sucking" ability. I guess having tattoo's all down my arms ( tattoo sleeves) would make people assume that I am a little bit more hardcore. For now, Im probably not going to... But I might do it one drunken day
