is the valentine that good?
I hardwired the S and my RSX. Move the unit between the two cars. I bought two remote displays and wired one in each car. The remotes have the arrow lights and mute button. Main unit never lights up and you don't have to reach to up to use the mute feature. It's good not to "advertise" you have a detector, especially at night!
Question I had debated for a while if I should get the Passport Escort 8500 X50 or the Valentine V1.8 I looked at both both are equivalent if no the Passport Escort 8500 X50 is better, but the arrows were a plus for the Valentine V1.8...But then I came to the conclusion who the hell cares where the cop is as long as you know there is a cop around...IDK I don't see the point of buying something for a hundred dollars more to find out where a cop is as long as you know one is there you will slow down anyways!
hmm couldnt you mount your detector near the windscreen so there would be less of cord stretch or does it have ot be on your windshield?
plus I also have a HUD wiring so like i said its crowded...but ijsut looked and what I will do is run the wires under the center console so it will be hidden alot

Maybe the performance difference isn't much between the X50 and V1, but as far as the long-term benefits, V1 far exceeds the Passport. I had the Passport 8500, and when the X50 came out, the only thing I could do to get the extra performance of the X50 was to sell my detector and buy the X50. With the V1, when a new version comes out, you just send it in for an update and you're ready to go. People have had their V1's from years ago, and they've got the same technology/performance that I have on mine that I bought a month ago. That's great service.
