yeah, the arrows r nice feature, and I think many would say the valentine is preferable, but is it worth the difference betw $300 and $400? $300 already sounds huge.
Refer to my previous post.

To add to that, think of it this way.

My logic on paper:

Passport 8500 in 2004 = $275
Passport 8500 X50 (if I would've bought it) = $300
Future versions of Escorts = ~$300

Total = $575 + future costs of $300 * X

IF I would have bought a V1 to begin with:

V1 v1.8 = $400
V1 v1.8 w/POP = cost of shipping.
V1 future releases = cost of shipping + cost of upgrades, if applicable(a heck of a lot less than a new unit).

Total = $400 + minimal costs for upgrades.

Also, a better resale value.

It's a better future investment.

The V1 was tempting but I went with the x50. Two weeks after using it I could tell where the radar source was without arrows.

The x50 is a MUCH better deal and is more sensitive.

Abolutely. Once you've driven with the arrows, other detectors will seem unacceptable to you. I've had mine for over 4 years and it's paid for itself over and over again.

Those who say the arrows are not worth the extra $100 have never driven with them and thus, don't know what they're missing.

If $300 sounds huge to you, check what a hefty speeding ticket will run you.....

That's impressive. I'd like to see you figure out where the cop is when there's radar coming from behind you and you have a separate signal coming from straight ahead.

You assume the signal is coming from the cop you just passed and are thus, safe.
Then, bam! You're nailed by the cop ahead.

The V1 will show the radar is coming from ahead and behind simultaneously and the direction of the most "threatening" signal will blink so you'll know where to watch out.

There goes the money you saved!

Blah, blah, blah.
I suppose anyone can MAKE UP a scenario to justify spending more money than they need to. The fact is, my x50 has saved me every time.

AND I spent less $$$ than you!
