This would be a tremendous loss for anyone regardless of their age.

Sorry for your misfortune I have had experiences with assholes like that in the past. I have learned that it is best to keep AWAY from this kind of trash because you never know what an asshole will do. From your original post, this person is a complete asshole.

Something simple as a slight flashing of a high beam can set someone off, even if they are wrong. It is almost as if you are challenging them. If you don't pull over, they will chase you and cause you grief on the road. If you do pull over, they may physically attack you and hurt you or even shoot you. If I get into a confrontation, from now on, I will succumb (give in) or acknowledge to them that they are right. I do not like to fight, it is not my style.

Road rage is not a good thing. You either wind up getting hurt, unless you are a big badass who likes fighting (even then, there will always be someone badder than you) Or you get shot or stabbed or sustain damage to your property. (S2000) If you stop and get out of your car, you are challanging that person and that makes you just as guilty as the other person. It is NOT worth it.

Know matter what the case, there is always the chance that the police will blame you for a chain of events. It is just not worth it, the price is HUGE. It is best to just stay away from assholes like that. Forgive me Mods for saying &$%#, but I think it was appropriate in this case.

Good luck

Tony

if the lexus hit you, can't you find some proof where he hit you? no matter how lightly, i am sure some paint would have rubbed off onto your car, and you can prove that it was HIT and RUN...

true, i checked the trunk. their is white paint on the rear bumper, and its not primer. the cop its from the trees, how many white trees do you know of?...exactly. the white paint on the car is very minial though, he tapped me just enough to make me loose it.

Wow! That's a tragedy. Sorry dude!

That Lexus driver was a thug and should be taught a lesson. It's very hard to prove anything on your part. Man, all your losses are tough, including the reckless driving citations.

First off, I'm glad you're O.K. I also found out first hand (unfortunately) that the s2000 fares pretty well in accidents. I walked away completely unharmed, though my accident wasn't nearly as bad as yours looked. I'm sorry that happened.

Now onto my mini-rant.

I can't believe the extent that the cops have stereotyped you. It's one thing to throw around these assumptions that you were street racing but it's another thing to give you a ticket for reckless driving. Where's the proof? They don't know that you're not telling the thruth and for all they know you could have swerved to avoid a rabbit or something and just lost control. So they have no base for that ticket.

I say fight the ticket for sure. To me, it doesn't seem that they have a case whatsoever.

It's unfortunate that your buddy in the GSX didn't take the exit with you, then he could have gotten a license plate number. But that's after the fact and you can't live your life in "ifs"

Well, good luck with everything, and let us know how things turn out.

BTW - When I had my accident I needed new headlights and the shops that I got estimates from gave me prices between $490-$530 a pop per headlight. So, I CALLED hardtopguy and he told me he had a pair of headlights sitting around so I bought them from him for $685 with three-day shipping. I say it's worth a shot, but I can't guarantee that he has more laying around.

Sorry for the long post.
