I absolutely love the titanium Citizen Eco-Drive my wife (then fiancee) got me for Christmas last year. To match the watch I got a titanium/carbon fiber wedding band.

I certainly appreciate a good watch but only own one:

Got it as a gift in 1991 and its been on my wrist every day since (except for about a month when I sent it in to get serviced and cleaned). I rarely take it off - it goes to the gym with me, when I'm wrenching on the cars and its held up well. I have a friend who has about a dozen nice to really nice watches - he also has one of those auto-winders so he doesn't have to worry about resetting them all the time.

I keep an eye on the forums at:

www.watchnet.com

and

www.timezone.com

There's usually a fair amount of cross posting between the two, but you can save substantial money by buying used.

The sales forums on each site are divided into + / - $5000.00

There are also brand specific forums on these sites that can be very helpful.

I know I'm probably in the minority here since many people seem to hate Movado's with a passion, but I bought a Movado Luno. I just love the simple, classy look of the watch. I'm not a watch guy and I just bought what I thought looked good. I'm not really a fan of watches that have a ton of stuff going on, which is why I really like this watch.

I love watches... I do not currently even own one because my wrists are small.

I have purchased a few watches throughout the years but they all had a metal type linkage which when sized for me was either too loose or tight because of my wrist size.

I also find it hard to find a watch that looks good on my wrist because they are small..

Is there a store or outlet that sells these high end watches all at one place so that you are able to try things on?

Some beautiful watches in here!

My favs are Brietling, Oris, and Patek Phillipe. I'm saving for a Patek I have my eye on and have a few Brietlings along with a bunch more from Italy (Briel), UK (Storm and few others), Scotland, etc. I also have a few beater watches that I can wear daily without worrying about how much I spent on them.

I'd like to get one of the Oris watches for diving. Right now I use the Invictas which are really good looking watches (and functional diver's watches) for the pricepoint.
Ditto on the Breitlings.

Classy, professional, durable, functional.
Not too showy to people who don't know watches, still gets the knowing nod from watch enthusiasts.

I bought one as a "dress watch" but wind up wearing it all the time.

pretty much any watch retailer, macy's authorized dealer will let you try on watches. but i don't think they would size the bracelet for your wrist size.

maybe you will have better luck with leather or rubber straps.

having said that, there are bracelets that are adjustable on the fly with no tools.

to name a few:

- Seiko Marinemaster and Landmaster
- Citizen Promaster line up (some of them)
- the new Rolex Deepsea Sea Dweller has a adjustable clasp, Milgauss and GMT Master IIc also has a easy link
- Glashütte Original sport evolution
- Omega 1200m Ploprof
- Doxa Sub 5000T
- Section 600 anglog/digital chronograph

but most of those are pretty big watches, if you have small wrist or if you like smaller watches, then you might need to take that into consideration

maybe something like a Rolex Explorer or Omega Aqua Terra (36mm case size, compare to a 40mm case size for submariner) will work for you

I am surprised how many people like Breitlings. I personally don't care for them - they are too busy and gaudy in some cases.

For eg:
