We Remember @S2ki
I was in the middle of Business Class, someone ran in saying the Pentagon had been attacked (not knowing of what happened in NY) everyone was like wtf? but class continued (it was almost over anyways). Walking to my next class hearing little bits of things here and there, but not knowing exactly what happened. When I got to class the TV was on and we were all watching it, thats when I learned everything that had happened.classes were cancelled so everyone could get home to their spouses ( I live in a military town and work on Camp Lejeune). The Base locked up tight and all uness. personal were sent home.
Came out of geometry class and my friend Rob said a plane crashed into the WTC, and I said something along the lines of "What are you kidding? What kind of an idiot doesnt see the WTC???" Everyone thought it was an accident, a small plane or something, and then a teacher went around and told everyone a second plane had hit. Police/security came to the school and everyone had to go to the cafeterias because my school is situated conveniently between NYC/Philly/DC.
And then they fell. Everyone was taken home because a majority of families in my area work in NYC.

I was sitting in Biology class but all they would tell us was that there had been an attack. I didn't get any details until after lunch when some teacher finally let us watch tv and see what all had happened.
I remember too that I was glued to the television screens and Internet for a while. I kept reading and listening to anything that was related. Even this weekend, I have been watching everything 9/11 related. Everytime that I see the footage it almost doesn't seem real, it feels like a movie.
i was still in highschool...the teachers wouldnt let us watch it so the info we gained was from goign between classes or at lunch...all the stupid kids started yelling we have to go to war with iraq...down with sadaam...sigh..oh well..sad day
I was on my way into work in the city when out of the bus window, I saw the WTC on fire... Surreal to say the least. The bus driver turned us around and went straight back home. On the bus, people were saying it was on of those commuter planes, i.e. Piper.
When I got home, live tv showed the first tower falling.
It's a very somber mood here in the city today.

I woke up late and turned on the weather channel to see what the weather was supposed to be and they kept having travel information on about airport delays and closings. I remember being mad that they weren't giving the local weather for some reason. Eventually someone said that all flights were being grounded because of what had happened in NYC. They didn't specifically say what that was, but I found out as I walked to class. Every television I passed had CNN or some other news channel on with pictures of the buildings. Classes were cancelled but people still showed up at a class about Mahatma Gandhi. It was very interesting to see how each person interprets what they see (angry / scared / shocked).
I think I spent the next week in a shock induced coma, all I remember is watching the news channels 24 hours a day trying to make sense of what I was seeing.

i was a sophomore in high school and me and my neighbor cassy were getting ready to leave the house for school. my dad was watching CNN like he does every morning and we just stood there in my living room staring at the TV in awe. i was so young... i think it was kind of hard then to grasp the seriousness of it all or understand how much that event was going to change our world. that was before "the war on terrorism," "the axis of evil," "islamo fascism"... i understand now that the world is definitely a different place and that single event was the catalyst.
Something we'll all never forget and shouldn't.
I too woke up around 6am (in CA of course) to my radio alarm clock, and hearing what was being said on the radio - I didn't understand at first... it took a minute to register
Put at flag out today! At home, at work, on your car
