For real?
I can't buy in to that, and I don't want this thread to turn in to a religious debate or it's going to go to shit.

My purpose is to find and deal with contamination. (See my sig.)

You've created your own religion. Or you're a superhero.

Btw Scot, what's your purpose in the off-topic thread? To create as many philosophical questions as possible to get people writing essays?

in all seriousness, i think everything we do is for that last moment of consciousness before we die. if we can feel ok and content, maybe even happy than you've succeeded.
But you could die any day. I live my life so that I'm content in case that happened any day. It wouldn't be my preference, but I'm proud and happy with what I've done in my non-s2ki.com life thus far... I just keep trying to extend on that daily.
^thanks for clarifying. the point of taking care of business asap is in case something suddenly happens.
that begs the question:
how many of us would feel "ok" if tonight was our last night?

I'm out of this thread.
Scot, what do you fine your purpose as? Is your "purpose" to do something good for the world? If so what is doing something good for the world exactly? Is it to live life to the fullest? What defines living life to the fullest?
