You have to be joking right! Philadelphia is the only spot in PA (well maybe pittsburgh) where getting a carry permit requires some substantial paper work.
You've just proved my point!
Thanks!
^ Legally, at least. But how many people in Philadelphia actually follow these laws? I go to school here and last year there were countless robberies/assaults/muggings of students/faculty by armed suspects. I dont think they would show you a license if you asked...

Just so you know, since you obviously don't, handguns are used ~47.8% of the time to commit an unjustifiable homicide, Other objects ~41.4% of the time. Long guns make up the difference.
There are WAY WAY more handguns now then ever i the 19th century and crime rates are way lower.
The break down has just been finished and handguns account for <7800 unjustifiable homicides in the USA. or .000261% or the whole population or .322% of all deaths each year. Less than half the amount of people who die from pneumonia (16,959) or accidental injury (108,694) about as many die from Other and unspecified infectious and parasitic diseases and their sequelae 7,526 or Malignant melanoma of skin 7,895 http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr54/nvsr54_19.pdf
The rhetoric isn't even rhetoric is just plain stupidity. An obvious lack of knowledge about why people die and how often they die. More children die drowning in a swimming pool! More people die from alcohol. have fun reading this stuff over, it basically stands on it own.

lightweight, accurate, easy maintanence, reliability and ammo easy to come by. Is this asking to much for one handgun or is there something you can suggest?

Does that read 8 assaults? Is there a link to that page? The last time I heard of someone getting killed in Flemington was some guy killed both his parents and then himself. That was.... IDK 6 months ago? Kinda creepy actually cause I drive by that house every once in a while...
Edit: Note: Firearms are used in <9% of all violent crimes.
You're 91% more likely to be a victom of a violent crime that doesn't include a firearm at all!

I'd be more afraid of getting in a car accident in my area, truth be told. Now, a couple minutes on the interstate and it's a different story...
This is the only pic I have on this computer.. the handgun sits on the nightstand, and the shotgun next to the dresser.
in the night stand is better. in a fast access, locked single gun safe attached to the inner wall of your closet is best.
Your bedroom should be your most secure area (solid wood door, sensored windows etc etc)
if you ever hear an intruder, you best bet is to lock yourself in the room call the police and ready your weapon. Once you are secure and have police on the phone, announce very loudly that you are armed and have the police on thier way and then wait at the ready.
House hunting is never a good option!!!
I know it sounds ass backwards but living through a home invasion is always better than getting injured and or killed trying to be a hero. I love my possesions too but nothing is worth your life or the lives of your family.
call me stupid but trained defense specialists have confirmed this to me personally.
my .26 worth
