In my city we have a volunteer bureau where they can give you all kinds of options. There are tons of opportunities out there. You could be a volunteer driver for your local cancer or community care organization, or you might want to consider being a Big Brother if you're willing to commit long term. I'm a social worker and in my field I see a real lack of male role models - you might be surprised how much of an impact you can have.

I didn't find that as rewarding as I thought I would. I did it for 2 weekends and had a reasonable time....Luckily I didn't get the HPDE1 guy with the 800hp viper or anything....

I have debated about doing more, but then I flip flop (kerry style) about it.
