The fastest car I've been in is my friend's 63 corvette convertible with a new bored out 500hp+ NA engine. We only went to 140 with his shitty tires (he used to not have traction through the first two gears!). I haven't been in it since he put some decent shoes on it, but he has told me he can get up to 160 no problem.
155 on a 2000 yzf600r, took a while
160+ on a 2001 suzuki bandit S 1200cc, modded, didn't take a while
115 pegged literally for hours in my 1st car, 96 civic hatchback
145 smooth as water in my LS400
150 very quickly in a 2002 modded z06
160+ 20 or 30 times in my old twin turbo 300zx. It was modded to the max power the stock fuel system could provide, but it hits 172 stock without a rev limiter, so I reckon 180-185 wouldn't be hard. Best aero's I've felt, and it was designed nearly 20 years ago!
Unlike most people who speeds on the freeway, I was doing about 130mhp on a major city street on a Yamaha R1; it was 0-130 in less than a city block...I had cops chasing me and i didn't even know it. The reason i stopped at 130 because my helmet was almost blown off. yes, it was stupid...and i'm not proud either.
