What's the fastest you've been in a car?
175 in a highly modified Euro-spec 930 turbo (400+ hp) 10 years ago. At night. With sealed-beam headlights. Scary. It was on a straight 5-mile section of an Interstate in south Alabama, at 12:00 midnight on a Sunday night (i.e. no traffic), and I wanted to see what my newly-modified toy would do. Just for the record, an Armadillo impact at that speed would have been like a being hit by a cannon ball. Never done it since.
150 (cousin's '98 vette)
130 (friends '70 Dart Swinger 392HP)
130ish (ex-gf's stang, don't like stangs but i'll abuse'em if given the chance.)
120 Lincon towncar (rental - road trip to Oklahoma from Texas)
110 my civic dx felt like it was about to hop off the road.

funcar, a Twin-Turbo Nitrous Testarossa? Did that happened to be built by Norwood Ferrari and owned by JohnC? That is the only Ferrari I've ever heard of that has the specs you mentioned.

145 in the S2k, with the top down.
deserted road in Texas Hill Country - about a lane and a half wide through cow pastures, meaning there aren't fences...
luckily the only cows I saw were well away from the road
I also hit 120 in a 1986 Honda Prelude Si. This was about 1 year ago, so the car was 13 years old... and had been very poorly cared for and was extremely rusty. I was moving down to Texas in it and had all my worldly possessions stocked up to the roof (even in the passenger seat!) I was well over the weight limit for the car - included in my gear was 12 cases of wine which by itself weighs close to 700 pounds... needless to say, it was an interesting experience.

In the body shop? A little too much fun there?
Hey, kind of OT; but I grew up in the Park Cities and miss it. Maybe one day after the Silicon Valley thing, I'll head back. I always liked big "D".
I once had a Ferrari that I thought of tubocharging, however; it was a 308 and even with a turbo charger it would not have been that awesome. So I bagged, got a Pantera (351 Cleveland) and twin-turbocharged that car. Big Fun! That car saw 100+mph all the time.

There was a 308 out on the track during out last track day. I think everyone I talked to was going on about how he was slowing down the entire track run. Basically everyone was caught behind him. Since they were being safe, we were not allowed to pass except in the straights. So we spent many a lap behind the 308.
Now those cars are not that slow on the track. I must conclude that this guy driving was just in training.
The 308, it's damn pretty, but not that fast. Here's a pic of my (former) 308.
This car used to belong to Lee and Farrah Fawcett Majors. I came across it at the Pebble Beach concours and later bought it from the owner. It was a beautiful car, but alas not a speed demon.
