Yes Local 501 Plumbers & Pipefitters. I'm not one of those hardcore freaks that are "Go union or go home" though, shit everyones gotta feed the family you know? My company has 2 Fitters, 6 Tin Knockers, and 15 Service Tech's, which doesnt included our service manager, engineer, and a few other ppl. I actually was Certified in 410A about a year and a half ago, and the thing i don like is the fact that the system runs such high pressures all the time. It sometimes makes me second guessing using stay brite #8 all the time lol. Thats one thing i do hate is telling someone how much its going to be. If i'm not mistaken, i heard through the grapevine theres a drop-in thats supposed to be almost identical to 410A but it runs with 22 systems. Where are you located? We are puttin in 21 seer and up here. The condensers are like 4'x4'x4'.
I am located in Southern Cali, San Diego.
We have contracts to service with several companies that own apartment complexes in the city. They mostly run heatpump systems. When a condenser unit goes bad we now have to replace the airhandler also because back when the complex was built the units were all 8 SEER. Part that sucks is that u can clearly see that the airhandlers were first installed and then the walls and ceiling were built around them so it turns out to be a bigger job to replace the systems especially when the coil on the 13 SEER system is bigger then the original and we have to make more room then was written in the plans when the complex was designed and built. Also the managers want the cheapest available so now we have to offer them 13 SEER systems. Yeah two of the biggest concerns are the fact that the 410 is hydroscopic and runs at a much higher pressure.
Where are u located?
Chicagoland. Thats always the worst when customers want the cheapest shit available or the cheapest priced company to do it. Two years later they call you up complaining that their stuff doesnt work anymore and all you can really say is "You get what you pay for".
