Will the declining price of the S2k ruin s2ki.com?

Because those cats actually do have money, and are elitist. This board is just pretending.

The s2000 is the best car I have owned.
I have owned the usual "teen" cars, a mustang(hated it), a nissan, two civics, and now my S (not to mention the other numerous POS that I used as beaters)
I did not purchase my S brand new. It was used, so I guess I am considered a bastard child that shouldn't be allowed on the site, according to a few of you.
I have a few mods that I guess the "Upper Class" of the s2ki community would refer to as RICEY. (pics are below)

IMO all cars can be shaped into an untasteful waste of money. But I don't let that bother me. opinions are like ass holes, everyone has one.

I laugh when I see a civic that is 8 different colors and has the worst exhaust possible, or a wing that has been transplanted from a 747. We all do.

But I also respect the few civics, integras, eclipses, 240s, etc that have the RICER mods but have been professionally done, and have the HP to back it up.
No most ricer mods don't do anything for the car under the hood, but the few who know what they are doing have all my respect.
Anyone who can transplant a GSR into a civic, turbo it, dial it in, and can produce enough HP to put a smile on your face is all right in my book. It takes a lot of money, and know how to do some of these things these "kids" do.

The S is a great car, but I can't understand why a large portion of the people posting (not only in this thread) think that it is a super rare car that only the best of the best should be allowed to own and drive. Some of the people on here act as if there should be an age limit on the dame thing. I love the car, and I enjoy driving it and getting looks/comments. I know everyone still gets "What kind of car is that?" "nice car" etc
but the punch line to most people is "It's a honda"......"a honda? oh "

So let the begin

it's time for you to upgrade before you have to be subjected to dealing with "these" people.

I could care less what other people think or drive. Hell the kid working at the 7-11 up the street just got a used '00. I gave him a on having good taste. I was looking at far more expensive cars when I drove this one based on a coworker telling me I'd love it. You know what? He was right and so what if all of the other people driving it around me are 16-21 and they want to rice them out. I've gone to a few of the area meets where I am 25+ years older than everbody there and the kids were for the most part a good bunch of guys. While i din't always like there mods they took my wise cracks with a smile.

As for the cops being on to me because I drive this car well fortunately my town has more cops and fireman per capita than any other town in the counry so all I do is take my tickets up the street and have them fixed.

I just bought a s2k for $21k last year and I was 21 years old. I barely see anyone under 28 driving one these in the Seattle area. Most of the people who have them are people who graduated college a couple years ago and now have established themselves and easily have jobs making $50k-60k a year or more. Do i ruin the s2k community because im young and i drive one, so some 30 year old who thinks he's a wannabe elitist doesnt look as cool because I have one also and am young?

I know they're common place in SoCal and Florida, but up here its still a somewhat an elite car for people my age who are seniors & juniors in college. I dont think the the cool status of the s2k will go to crap for a while here at least, since their rare in my state, and cost more on average than in SoCal (all local autotrader ads in WA seemed on average 2-3k higher than similar mileage/condition s2k's in SoCal).

well there's my take from a young s2k owners view here in seattle.

The only one here pissing and moaning is you, really.

Good luck finding the joys in your life that will not be spoiled by others having the same thing. You swear like you had the car special made. lol

I think some of you are missing the point of my original post -- the lower price will allow the ricer kids to buy the car. In turn they come to this forum and post their make believe stories and general bullshit. Want to see a hint of things to come? Visit Superhonda or Honda-tech.

Not sure where the elitest part was misrepresented, I mentioned my being elitest in passing as a joke. Ironically I guess I meet the requirements which some folks have layed out for being elitest -- yet I don't agree with them. What you own or how much money you have does not factor into whether you are an elitest or not.

Also Osama, I had my first S2k for two years in Seattle and there are tons of S2k's out there.
