Wisdom tooth extraction wasn't bad. What is bad is all the stories you here of bad experiences that cause your brain to play tricks on you.

At the end of the day, it is relatively painless, unless of course you're a huge pussy.

Well...I received a phone call Friday saying that they won't be able to pull them on Tuesday the 17th. Instead, they can do it Saturday the 14th at 8:00 am.

So, I'm typing this with gaws (sp) in my mouth, i'm in a little amount of pain. I can not feel my face what so ever. Operation took three hours and I woke up a few times during it.

I could really, really use a cigarette right now.

Wait till the novacane wears off. You will be in a little more than a "little amount of pain". I had all 4 out when I was 22. 2 of the were impacted and the other 2 hadn't broke the surface yet, but the doc wanted to take them all out in fear the other two would get impacted also. Needless to say, he had to cut them out. After the numbness wore off, it felt like I got hit in the mouth with a Louisville Slugger about 10 times. Took a Percaset, almost puked and then gradually got better. Took Advil from there on and was eating somewhat normal foods the next day. You've got a watch out for "dry sockets" though. You can get an infection if you get food in there before it heals over. Overall, not an experience I'd like to go through again.
