I personally agree with Primo, but unfortunately, like he said, the rest of the world doesn't.

However, there is a lot of misinformation in this thread.

The diamonds in question are NOT FAKE. Saying I want the real thing is stupid. The Porsche comparison is stupid. People trying to reason these two are also, pretty stupid.

These diamonds are 100% real. They have absolutely the same properties as mined diamonds. They are 100% impossible to distinguish from mined diamonds. There are ONLY two ways to tell they are lab created...

1)They are flawless. Since they are grown in a controlled environment, they are all 99% flawless.

2)They lack the mark of where the diamond was "broken" off the main rock. This flaw however, gets ground out when the stone is polished. You can only use this method BEFORE the stone is cut.

These diamonds are 100% carbon, and are made the same way nature does, just in an accelerated way. I have seen them in person, and they are just as good as the real deal.

Now, some of you keep arguing that they are cheap. They are not. They are MAYBE 20% less than the mined stones, IF that.

Furthermore, some of you need to educate yourselves on how these stones are actually made. First of all, if you notice, the three, and ONLY 3 companies that produce lab diamonds only make pink, blue, and yellow diamonds. The reason...well, that is unknown. The companies CLAIM that creating white diamonds is extremely complicated, and due to the manufacturing costs, they would actually cost MORE than the real deal. My personal belief? DeBeers and their buddies paid these companies more money than god to not produce them.

Next, if you notice, lab diamonds don't come in large sizes. This is due to the size of the chamber. The chamber would need to be the size of a Hummer H1 to produce a 2ct diamond.

So, to those that just don't understand...they are NOT FAKE DIAMONDS. For those comparing it to a Plorsche...it is not a Porsche fake. It is Mercedes Benz replicating the 911 in their factory, and putting it on sale for 20% less. It is physically, and chemically, the same exact product with no difference. The only technical difference would be that the "mined" Porsche was built in Stuttgart, and the "lab" Porsche was made in Munich.

A question for those cheap ass bastards who won't buy the real thing, will you pass your fake diamond to your granddaughter as a heirloom? Maybe you can leave a note, "hey grandpa gave grandma a fake so they could spend a few extra days in Maui and grandpa could get the fake hardtop".

If you don't have the cash maybe you can't afford to get married, just a thought.
You're such a dumbass!!! No wonder you're from So-Cal, the capital of wannabe baller/millionaire and materialistic snob. How that for stereotyping?

"a family possession handed down from generation to generation."

Do you know what the definition of heirloom is? You think because every time you see a movie Hollywood portraits heirloom as something outrageous and expensive so all heirloom has to be in this standard?

You're such a sucker who bought into everything the media and society put value on it. You better learn how to use the word "fake" properly too. If an unauthorized company manufacture the lab made stones without permission and sell it as a nature one that would be fake. This is not the case for lab made stone.

Let me put it into your So-Cal term. Buying a $30k Mercedes that was made by Mercedes instead of a $160k AMG version is not a fake nor it's not worthy. They both get you to where you want to go(fact), but the $30k one will not have the prestige of the $160k(personal/society value).

Here a word for you - Ethnocentric- judging others by standards of your own group.

I said on the early posts that it was gonna get ugly in here....

BTW its not that we cant afford the diamonds, please get that out of your head. The fact is once you start to think about all this and/or you have gained some more perspective in life, you start to realize things differently.

I would chose to spend my money more wisely IMHO, that's completely different than not being able to afford something. It is arguments like yours that make discussions go south and threads get locked. No one made assumptions or attacks until your happy ass chimed in.

Actually, I would hope to pass on to my granddaughter the intelligence to recognize a marketing scam when she sees one.

most heirlooms are worthless items which hold only sentimental value. that's practically the definition of an heirloom. why would it matter what the ring was made of?

and.. yeah.
