Why would you want the shift knob lower? Wouldn't you want the shift knob closest to the steering wheel as possible? Im thinking of getting an 3" extension like I have on my STi...

this is true for other cars such as the sti, evo, 350z, and probably any other manual car, but the s2000's seating position and gearbox is in the perfect place, there's no need to make it higher, just sit a bit lower so it feels your hand is literally on the transmission.

I see a lot of nice Al and Ti shift knobs.
Don't you guys ever have problem grabbing it on a hot summer days? or cold morning like these days? what would be the best solution? I don't want the LONG leather wrapped OEM one.. any suggestions????

Makes shifting faster. The higher the knob is to the base the farther you have to move your hand to get it in gear.
You do know its more important to keep your hand on the 9 & 3 o'clock hand position at all times. If you have a lower knob, the longer it takes to reach for it when its time to shift. And your left with one hand to steer.

I find my Alex ti knob cools down real fast and doesn't get real cold in extreme weather. I think my steering wheel feels colder than the knob.

I just switched out my weighted aluminum knob for this Greddy knob. No more worries during hot summer days!
