No one's done HELLA FLUSH with OEM wheels?

Now one more question, for all of you guys in here running 225 front 255 rears on stock AP2s, how does the car drive? worth the extra rubber? how is the handling compared to stock size? as crisp as on 245s? or a little "softer"?

I started with 215/255 setup and when the tires wore out I stepped up to 225/255. IMHO I wish I kept it at 215/255 because the steering response kinda died out. Don't get me wrong though, people track oem wheels with 225/255 and swear by them. They grip really well and neutral in my ap1, I just miss that initial turn-in feel. Hope this helps
thanks again!
I never liked the 215/255 setup, there was too much push up in front in auto-cross, I didn't feel any of that on the track but making the jump to 225/255 made a noticeable improvement in getting the car to rotate better.
Likely the rotation was better due to more front traction in the cold, the difference between 215->225 is probably much more noticeable when the tires are relatively cold (autocross) than when they are hot (track).

Ok now let me re phrase my question, for 100% street "hard" driving, would 215-255 be a bad combo? don't think i will be tracking and or autocross my car any time soon.
215/255 with cold tires (street applications) tends to push (understeer).
225/255 with cold tires (street applications) is more balanced and easier to rotate the car (neutral).
215/255 or 225/255 with hot tires (track) there isn't that much of a difference.
Autocross is going to be similar to "hard street driving" in terms of turns and tire temps.
You never want your car to rotate on public roads. If you do, let me know where you are so I can avoid you at all costs.
And the hot/cold under/oversteer observation depends a LOT on what kind of tire you run.

And what about steering response? don't you get a little bit of "wobble" effect with 225, under quick maneuvering? IE. Switching lanes fast, ECT.
Don't hate, i'm asking, since that is what i keep hearing from people that have done it.
i mean if 215 255 suck so much and 225 you loose steering response, then good old OEM size it is....

As for what kind of tire -- of course there's a small amount of variability, but assuming the same tire, and frankly in this case, summer performance tires, all other variables ignored, the observation stands. Especially when comparing a 215 width vs a 225 width tire as the construction of the tire is very similar and tread pattern usually doesn't change from a 215 to a 225.
