Yes, a roll bar is a roll bar, until you start to race... Than all the bolt in ones do not qualify. You need to have one built as they have specific specs and most need to be welded in. This is what I have heard so far, I am NO expert just passing along what I have been told.

Most tracks do not require anything for non-competitive track days. I have driven the S2000 on a number of tracks and have only been turned away at one (VIR). As far as I know you will be OK without a cage at PIR.

Depending on how tall you are in the car with your helmet, you may or may not need a bar. Even on HPDE or school days if the tech guy or you instructor find you car may be unsafe in a roll over situation you may have to sit out. Each racing club will differ a little bit. Yes a bolt in roll bar will do for just track days or HPDE days. Remember its no just to make the Tech guy happy or the race director, its to make sure you dont die. I dont want anyone to die. lol

Just to clarify. The S2000 does NOT have a rollbar. It is not a designed to be a roll bar. Even if you are small like Hue or something it still doesn't count and the tech guys will tell you that when you get inspected.
They didn't really tell me, but the guy said it was fine for that track day but he left it open ended on whether or not I would need either a rollbar or a hardtop for the next track day.
