When would Honda fess up and say there are design flaws with the engine.
Looks like you burn quite a bit of oil through the combustion chamber.
Good luck, and when you get a new short block check whether it has newer oil bolts for cooling pistons.

Add yourself to the list - print it out and show the DSM. You are not alone! In all these cases Honda replaced the short block under warranty. You should expect the same and nothing less.

BTW, did you get the sparkplug TSB notice?

Can somebody point out which four bolts are the banjo bolts that Honda has redesigned in the above pictures.
Thanks

They are not shown in any of the pictures, but the closest pic that is in the general area is the second one DCP_4601.JPG

They would be above the crakshaft and in the block at the bottom of the cylinder.

So lower unit would need to be removed to replace the bolts?

They didn't know what cause it but they determined the sound I hear was coming from the #1 and 3 cylinder with too much metal to metal movement.

Stacey called and told me Honda Canada has given the go ahead with fixing the damage. However Honda Canada is not fixing the damage because it had to but rather because of good will. So basically the damage was not covered by warranty. Now I need to wait 2-3 weeks for my new short block to arrive.

That's great news to hear. "Good will" is what they will use every single time to not admit fault, what this mean is that it's a one in a life time thing. If they say they'll fix it out of warranty they'll be in big trouble as it'll go down as a reliability problem with the car. Just be nice to the mechanic(s) that are working on your car and they'll give you your baby back in one piece
