Windshield repair or replacement recommendations
OK, so far the crack is maybe the size of a quarter, is this repairable? Or should I go with a new windshield. I have comp with a $250 deductible. Any recommendations as to where to go to get it fixed?
Never pay the deductible. There are ways.
Quarter is fixable. If i were you, i'd go to novus and see what they say. if they can't repair it, then i'd get a new windshield.
and if people are like the original's better... well u know what, it wasn't better than the rock that just cracked it.
it's all good, pimp.
g'luck

Insurance says if the chip is fixable, they will pay for it, no deductible. If the windshield needs replacing, I pay the $250 deductible.
Went to Novus, they showed me a chip that they just fixed on a LS430, you could still see where the impact had occurred, kind of a frosty spot. Obviously they were steering me towards a replacement. They want about $625 for the job and said they could even order a windshield with a tinted band on top. Do I want this or is this even possible???
The guy said they can no longer waive the deductible, even before I asked.
Went to the Honda dealer and they recommended GlasPro. I think they use PPG and their price was $450. Is this price more realistic? I guess it really doesn't matter since I'm going to have to fork over $250 no matter where I go...........or can I get around having to pay the deductible?

Look up the Yellow pages.
Call each vendor.
riiing "yo, dog, can you waive the deductible?"
response A: "No."
reponse B: "fo sheezy"
go with response B.
PPG etc etc.... they all pit and crack if the hard thing is big enough.

Short version: I got a new windshield from Speedy a little while back. They did a good job; no problems so far.
Longer version: I long time ago I had a ding, and got Speedy to fill it; they did a great job, you literally couldn't find it anymore. No $$ out of my pocket. Then a little while back I got a bigger ding; Speedy said I should try filling it and see how it came out. I wasn't happy with that one, so they did the replacement for the cost of my deductible (only $100, so I didn't bother to look around for a "fo sheezy" vendor.)
So you could always try the (free) repair option, then go with repalcement if necessary.
