Default D200 Opinion?

All,
The D200 is $599 at best buy again. I'm currently shooting with a Canon 20D on loan f/ a friend and want to finally buy my own.

What are your thoughts on stepping f/ the 20D to the D200? My film camera is a F4 and i have some glass for it....a low-end walk around and very nice telephoto (don't remember the models)

I love the canon also, but this price seems rather awesome. Thoughts?

I use D200. a great price for a great camera. Now I need a full frame to go with it, but I can't justify the price of D3 yet without additional photography income.

I use a D300 and I love it. But I've used a D200 before and while it didnt seem quite as good color wise it was still a very nice camera. And for that price its a steal!

I just got a D200 recently too. It's my first DSLR, and after trying the D90, D80, D40, D40x, 50D, 40D, XSi, XTi, XS, I can confidently say that I'm very happy with my purchase. If it is your first, the settings will take some time to learn, but after you're set, everything will make you glad you bought it.

I shot this with a D200 and 18-200mm lens.

^ Sorry to hi-jack, but if you're interested in a step by step tutorial on how to bring the highlights out in the bird without changing the background I know where one is using a shot almost identical to this one.
