You, as a mod, can do anything you pleased. What's the issue?

Anyhow, another used car lot was only willing to offer $25000 based on the "book" the guy was looking through. He admits that he has to make the coin somehow.
Geez, Seks, I hope you aren't that desparate to sell it in this fashion. You're gonna lose your shirt. That's less than 1/2 what it cost new and in only 3 years. Those used car lots have to give you next to nothing. They then mark it up like crazy because whoever comes to buy it is going to beat them down quite a ways, too. Somebody's going to lose and it ain't going to be the used car lot. You'll get WAY less than what you deserve. The next buyer pays WAY more than what he would have liked and the used car lot laughs all the way to the bank.

It'd actually be cheaper for you to continue to make the payments on it, if you think about it that way.

I wouldn't settle for any less than $34-35k for your car in the condition it's in.

Someone will pay what its worth.

I agree. The dealer who gives you $25K is going to list it at $37K, sell it for a few grand less and laugh all the way to the bank. You have a rare color too (which makes at a little more unique).

It's a whole different matter when you're the owner and has to look after it. It only looks "hot" if it's kept up and really, after a while, black gets pretty tedious and "old". I will not likely EVER own another black car again in my lifetime, with the exception of a black Honda Element and with this one, I'd just let it go the Hell in a handbasket because it would a utility vehicle. An Element only looks decent in black because of the stupid body cladding it uses.
Great choice Dave. Is this to replace the PT Cruiser ? You will have a hard time finding a more versatile vehicle than the Element. I had an 05' as a loaner for a day and I did not want to give it back, it was fun to drive and more practical than nearly any other vehicle out there. I continue to see more and more Element's on the road and they seem to cater to every demographic.

Nope, not desperate at all. Worse comes to worse, I'll just keep it with me over winter and see how it goes in the new season.

Brady, this is still just "pie in the sky". I was merely theorizing on what our next vehicle would be if we needed to get another vehicle at all. "Black" just put the Element into my mind as about only type of car I would ever get again in that colour.
My wife loves her PT and we're hoping that it will last for a long time yet. We were looking at the Smart as a 3rd vehicle as a fuel saving "run around town" vehicle. However, if one of us needed to replace a vehicle, the Element would be more practical. It could either be for her PT or it could be to replace the S one day, but that day may be quite far off.

Hey Seks, have you tried giving the guys at Hotwheels Automotive a shout re: the sale of your vehicle? I think they do consignment and they have an indoor showroom as well.

My own theory is the S2k has saturated it's market and as a result has very limited appeal at the 40 to $50,000 price point.
Honda apparently agrees as a result has offered up very attractive incentives to dealers to move inventory which is having a negative impact on our resale values.
Once the car is discontinued I'm hoping resale values will improve similar to the Prelude.
Oh by the way I love my Black S2k.
