Thumbs up Broken Windshield on my s

I got a crack in my windshield yesterday going down the highway. My question is should I have it changed now or wait until it is much warmer. If I repair it now will it seal ok and not cause me any trouble or is warmer weather better for sealing ?

Terry.

terry~ i have a crack in my windshield also. it is not major yet. i did do some research on a factory honda windshield replacement. it was about $415 for a brand new one. i will probably wait until this one cracks a little more before i replace it. i was driving north on I-25 driving home from Mile High Honda and this rock came flying at me like a missle. i saw this f*cking rock coming and was powerless to get out of its path. F**King rocks.

how bad is the crack?

i had my truck's windshield replaced and it was during last winter but you know how the weather is. so the seal hasn't given me any problems. of course i am going to the dealer to have this bad boy replaced.

The crack is about 7 inches long, so not too bad just bugs me every time I look at it.

Your windsheild will crack more as it cools down and heats up and cools down again as the days progress. I had a 1 inch crack go all the way accross the windshield in week on my civic.

Just find out who your insurance reccommends and have a moble glass come out and do it. It's not rocket science and the non OEM windshields use NEW OEM seals and stuff. I had a safelite installed on mine after it got beat to hell on one of the local drives.

Just a FYI - if anyone has State Farm insurance and has a small (repairable) chip in their windshield - State Farm will be discontinuing their free repair on June 1, 2006.

i think that driving on the highway in colorado it is normal to have a crack or chip on the windshield...

i would wait till it warms up and most importantly the gravel has been swept up before replacing it...
