I run the same tire, but they are getting more and more expensive. IMO unless you autox or track on weekly basis there is no need for that sort of tire.

Yet, they're still one of the least expensive "extreme performance" tires on the market.

I much prefer the feel of the Dunlop Direzza Star Specs due to their stiff sidewalls. The RS3 feels much more vague and sloppy, but they grip like crazy when they and the asphalt/concrete are warm. When it is cooler or when there is moisture on the ground, I use the Dunlups. They stick well even in the cold. The RS3s hate the cold and are not great in damp conditions.

Well, I'm back to the drawing board in a way. I just spoke to the Tire Rack and the RS3's aren't available until 5-1-12. I wanted to try them, but I don't want to wait that long, that's crazy. I imagine everyone else is in the same boat, too.

I am considering the Dunlop's now, but am concerned about them rubbing based on what I read above. Seemingly minor issues to some of you, but I don't want to mess around with rolling fenders and that sort of thing. I want them to bolt up, have the car lined up and not screw around with it from there. No rubbing.

Any thoughts?

Another thought...

I like the Tire Rack, but I admit that I wasn't thrilled with the options they had for 17x9" rims. There were like 6-8 choices. I chose the ones I selected b/c of the selection they had, those were the ones I like the best. Are there other reputable sources to be used for a wheel and tire package? I've used tires.com / Discount Direct, but wasn't overly impressed with them. I don't, necessarily, want to not buy from Tire Rack, but I also admit that I'm not sure what my other options are.

Thanks!

Try gruppeS they are a sponsor here.

Also you are not going to run 225/45 up front with that offset, no matter what tire brand. You would have to be seriously low.

Thanks for the tip. I sent them an email about the 5-Zigen's. Look like nice wheels to me; I just hope they have some RS3's in stock.

Raising from the dead (well, not really that old but..) I just purchased BC Sports BR suspension and Swift springs 10k/10k. Havn't put them on yet but measures my stock height before hand so I have an idea of what to put it back to so I'm not too low (unlike others I do not want to lower my car).
Im at Stock
FL – 13 7/8in
FR – 14 7/8in
RL – 14 1/8in
RR – 14 1/4in

There is about a 3 finger gap all around @ those measurements and the FL is that low of a # because someone backed into my car and the shop whom repaired my fender didnt do such a good job at returning to stock width.
So, If I drop it all 1 extra inch from stock, that should give me 1 finger gap in clearance. (I'm wanting only 2 lowest.) should I expect about this even though I'm using higher springrates than stock or is it too hard to theory craft? I've performed many suspension installs and alignments but never coilovers.

Thanks for any insight you can give
