What about the Carbontech 1521/Bobcat for street/spirited driving? I want something that will slow me down a little quicker than stock but not let off alot of dust or noise.

I've been a Hawk and Axxis fan for a long time. On a car like the S2000, I would run the HP+ pad. Axxis ULT if you can stand the dust. Of course, I would never take these pads out to a road course as with my driving style, I would overheat them very quickly (Axxis ULT pads fall right on its face after its overheated).

I have a customer of mine that I'm waiting to hear back from in regards to trying the new Stoptech pads.

The Centric Posiquiet ceramics would be the type of pad I would throw on my mom's Accord and would figure it for no more then just a OE replacement pad. Nothing more, nothing less.

EBC YellowStuf FTW

Just need to be carefull and bed them in properly.

EDIT/Addition:

These pads emit a white thin dust so its not that noticeable.
Initial/cold bite is very good.
I've experienced severe brake fade only after 6 consecutive full 85mph - 0mph very hard stops.
Im running DBA 4000 series stock diameter slotted rotors, BTW.

I will say, that the Hawk HPS are horrible in cold/initial bite. Much worse than the OEM AP2 pads. The only thing I like about them is that they produce nearly 0 dust.

I've been running ceramic pads for a wile but not sure how they compare to OEM or some of the track pads mentioned. They felt about the same on the street as the OEM, they seem to be lasting a long time and produce no dust or noise. Since being boosted and interested in doing more track days I am thinking I need to pick a pad that stops better, much the same requirement as the OP with little dust/noise. Maybe OEM is the best Compromise? I know I don't want to be swapping pads for the track/street.

i read it from everyone, and ignored it.

but its 100% true.

TRACK PADS FOR TRACK
OEM PADS FOR STREET

i know everyone doesnt want to accept that oem can actually be best, but they are.

for the track: if you get track pads that are too high a temp, you will not brake as well cuase you will never reach there operating temps. get something to cold, and you could exceed there temps and not stop well.

when my AX6 pads wear out, either gonna try bobcats cause i wouldnt have to cut/sand rotors to rebed or just sack up and do it and go oem again.

friend has bobcats on his wrx and i drove it. stop nearly as well as AX6 and no damn squeal.

i kinda think agressive FI street s2ks really should pay more attention to running better fluid if anything.

So is OEM metallic, semi metallic, organic or what? I agree they seem to be about the best compromise for street/track from what I keep hearing. Interested in what material they are comprised of. I am running ceramic pads now, what is the pros/cons of these pads in comparison?

Oh well, another brake pad discussion and once again, no concenses. Everbody likes something different. And even more frustrating, there doesn't seem to be a pad that just a little "better" than stock, but doesn't dust or squell.

I guess the best option for my daily driver and a half dozen track days or autocross a year is still the OEM pad.
