S2000 CR Club Racer Edition CR stands for "club racer," conjuring up the good old days when guys drove their sports cars to the track, raced them, and then, if the racing gods were smiling, drove them home again

Default Factory CR head unit

Hi guys, need a little help. I purchased my 08 CR with an aftermarket stereo head unit. I want to replace it with the factory one. I see a lot of them on ebay, but some say they will fit up to a 2007 model. Is the 2008 model any different than the previous years? Also, I'm assuming the CR head unit is the same as all other S2000 head units, correct?

It's pretty much the same head unit. I would just swap in a newer aftermarket head unit of your choosing, imo.

Agreed, with the Modifry DCI.

None the less, any OEM head unit should work. I want to say the newer ones had an aux for XM? But other than that, they will all work for the basic functions. I told my OEM Head unit to a MY00 owner and it functioned fine.

I'm confused. What are you guys calling the "head unit?"

"Head unit" as the fitting on the dashboard next to the steering wheel or the radio inside the flip down door? Never seen an "aftermarket" dashboard unit although there are wiring harnesses to allow some non-OEM radios to work.

The OEM Honda radio is usually available for well under $100 (maybe closer to $50) many places. Not sure when the XM capability came in but my '06 OEM Honda radio is marked XM on the bezel. It looks like every other S2000 radio I've seen.

Chuck, I'm talking about the actual stereo. It has an aftermarket pioneer unit which is really nice, but I want the car to be completely stock. I'm not a big stereo guy anyway.

Honda used may different look-alike radios.

2006-2007 39100-S2A- A90
2008-2009 39100-S2A- A91

The switch (remote control) panel for the dash board is the same unit for ALL radios 2004-2009 so my guess is that ANY Honda S2000 radio will work. But 39100-S2A- A91 is the factory part number.

Make sure you get the radio code with any radio you get or you just have a nice paper weight.
