i have mb quartz in the doors p-series. an alpine mrp-f450 amp that i'm going to bridge 2 channels for the sub. what sub do you recomend? it is going in a simple box in the trunk. this is the part of the stereo i want to keep the cost down on....after all it is in the trunk of a convertable with a loud intake .

i like tight, clean bass mixed well with the music, not loud and boomy.

i was looking at bottom of the line JL's but they seem to be getting mixed reviews.

Kicker crv-10 's seem to be getting good reviews online.

Can anybody recomend an afordable 10" sub that would meet my needs?

 

Depends on what you consider affordable? In any case you will need something that nets you a 4 ohm load to match up with your amp (4 ohm SVC or 2 ohm DVC).

I like the midrange Alpine SWS1022 as a good entry level sub over the lower level JL's. It be much more musical than the Kicker sub also.

 

Personally I love Elemental Design's Subs. They have two models of a 10". I'd link you to the site but it seems their site is having problems right now.

I've always been happy with the JL Audio 10W3 about $150

 

i just bought an alpine type-r from best buy for $130.00. they had an open box.

 

I would go with the kickers. I know the tweeter near me had a special on them for ~$80 I think?
