Default 12v in trunk?

Where can I tap for a 12v that goes on with the car and off when the ignition off(accessory)
Is the center console cigarette socket wires obtainable through the spare tire well. Or is there any other source that's easier.

I was thinking hardwiring a small fridge cooler for the trunk for those hot days..

Thanks!

yes, you can tap straight into the console socket and pass through the vent holes behind the seats to the trunk. the wires are very small gauge, and i'd worry about the draw of a cooler though.

other options....
use a fusebox tap off of a switched fuse, then you'd have a dedicated fuse
or
hardwire straight to the battery (or use the 12v constant to your amp, if you have one), put a relay between that and the 12v in for the cooler, and trip the relay w/ the 12v from the lighter.

Thanks. I think you are right. Gonna drop the cooler idea.

I was interested in putting several neon bars for better lighting in the trunk. Is there a constant 12v+ in the trunk. Then use a relay triggered by the trunk light...

I do not believe that there are any "constant" hots in the trunk area....maybe the electronic trunk actuator?....not sure...only other thing really back there are the tail lights, and they are not constantly hot.

Fridge cooler? If you mean an actual mini fridge, probably not a really good idea due to the size, motor, etc. If you're talking a peltier device, not much point as they will produce a ton of heat for the amount of cooling and will suck up all kinds of power to drop the temp a few degrees (not to mention, where ya gonna dump the heat created by the unit itself?).
