Hi All,

Has anyone upgraded the speakers on the rear pillars behind the headrest on newer ap2s?

What are some suitable upgrade speakers that fit in the pillar? I’m in the process up improving all the speakers in my car as the stock ones seem very dull.

Pillar? You mean the rollbar speakers?

The only upgrade involves a larger speaker where the stock grill no longer fits. Modding the grill to cut a hole where the speaker is fully exposed is only way for it to fit.

No one has found a replacement speaker that fits under the rollbar grills.

If you don't want to mod your org. speaker covers then I'd try to see if you can buy new ones first or see if you can get some from someone on here.

Yeah so I just ordered some new door speakers from crutchfield. The install instructions showed a small part regarding the rear speakers. Thought if these could be upgraded it would make top down driving much better.

 

I have the modifry upgrade in my '08. It was a night and day difference and I would almost say the s2k stereo is decent now. I bought all new OEM grills and parts for the install and drilled out the covers. I have it paired to an Alpine head unit.
