Yeah, your camera should have a little loop going back into itself. There might be two of them - one of them would reverse the image and the other would be the lines. But all you need to do is cut that loop and the lines will go away
I ended up getting one of those wolfbox dashcam/rear cam mirror combos from amazon. I bought another OEM s2k mirror and smashed through the front of my old one (had peeling sides) to salvage the mirror mount.
I used self-tapping screws to drill some new holes into a mounting plate meant for a different wolfbox mirror for the OEM mirror ball mount that I cut up from the original mirror.
- had to drill a pair of M2 holes slightly closer to the other side, they do make a G930 specific mount but it's plastic where this is metal, and I had better peace of mind drilling the holes in the center for the stock ballmount assembly (M3 screws I believe, maybe M4)
bottom right M2 screw fell out on the ride leading up to this pic, that's LA roads for ya need to see if it sheared or if it just backed out ideally would chop a bit of the stem off the mirror mount so it sits further back and drill the center screws just a little lower to maximize mounting height, better viewability and keeps the plugs clear of the trim I'm extremely tall so I have to tilt my mirror up quite a bit
Big thanks to the original poster! I just wanted to share my own diagram for anyone who, like me, needed to see the whole setup before diving into the install. If you’re feeling a bit lost or just don’t want to start tearing your car apart without understanding everything first, here’s my best attempt at drawing it out so you don’t have to go through what I did!
