Default Alarm Issue - Need Some Help

I had a Clifford 10.5x Alarm installed on my 2006 S2k. Its one of those two-way models with the LCD remote. It doesn't have remote start. To control the windows, the system has a "529" unit, which is supposed to enable the windows to go up/down with the remote, and also enable the buttons in the car to be one-touch auto up/down. The installer said tehre are two window modules, a 529, that handles two windows up/down in one module, and a 528 (I think that was the other model number), that does one window up/down. I opted for the 529 as I would like to have the auto up/down (a feature the car should have come with, but that's a seperate rant).

It doesn't work right. When lowering the windows, they will sometimes stop half-way. This occurs regardless of using the windows controls on the door, the remote or the top down switch. Getting them down the rest of the way typically takes two-four more button presses. I took it back to the installer, and he said he had noticed it during the install, but though he had fixed it. His thought is that the resistance is wrong. Apparntly the 529 unit has low, med, high for "resistance". To raise the windows all the way, it needs to be set to high, so that it seals correctly. He thinks it should be on "med" to lower the window. But the unit doesn't support that. You can only set the whole unit to up/down. His idea was to try setting one side to med, the other side to high, than cross wiring them, but DEI is saying it won't work.

So I need some EJ's help. Has anyone else had a similar unit installed in their S2k, and if so, how did you make it work? The solution right now is to go to two "528" (I think that's the other model) modules but this will make the auto up/down feature not work anymore though, including the orginal auto-down, since the alarm is wired directly to the window motor. I really want the auto up/down to work, as well as raising and lowering from the remote. Any other suggestions out there?

First, why can't he just set the resistance to hi all the time? Cross wiring seems needlessly complicated, but maybe I'm missing something.

Second, why won't two 528's work? They do the same thing as the 529, just not for two windows. So if you install two, you still get auto up and down on both windows.

Fwiw, I plan on adding two Autoloc controllers to get auto up/down on my S.

I spoke to the installer just now, and just to clairfy, the parts are 530 and 529. The 530 is the upgraded, two-window one (it does "two windows, up/down"), the 529 does "one window up/down or two windows one way". (Those are his quotes) He said only the 530 has the auto up/down feature. If I go to dual 529's than I lose the auto up/down, even at the driver's switch. He thinks the top down mechanism should still work, as it should be triggering the switch or the motor.

So I'd rather not go to dual 529's as I lose the auto up/down from the window switches.

As for the resistance setting, I know he exaplined to me why that wouldn't work, but I honestly can't recall. Or it is set to high now, and I screwed it up when I posted the first time. Unfortunately I'm not too good with alarms.
